A person’s a person, no matter how small. – Dr. Seuss
Impact 365 is our evolving community involvement project. Last year we focused on Minnie’s Food Pantry and held several food drives to help stock their shelves.
This year, we changed our focus…to help children who are homeless.
We were introduced to Hope Supply Company by Sejal Desai, Program Director for Entrepreneurs for North Texas. Hope Supply meets the critical needs of homeless children in North Texas by providing essentials such as diapers, wipes, formula, food, clothes and toys.
Once we had the goal to help homeless kids, we needed a funding vehicle. Since this was around March, and the firm’s office pool was being organized, we decided to donate that money to buy supplies for Hope Supply Company.
That decision began a cascade of kindness that culminated in more than $2,000 and 60 hygiene kits for homeless kids.
We call it “Hope in a Box.” Each box was gift wrapped and included personal hygiene items such as shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothbrush and tooth paste. Live Happy Magazine also donated inspirational notes and wrist bands to brighten their day.
It is amazing what 15 people, dedicated to making a difference, can do to help our corner of the world.
