Jim Shields Elected to the Board of Trustees of Communities Foundation of Texas
June 17, 2026

Shields Legal Group proudly announces that our founder James D. Shields has been elected to the Board of Trustees for Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT), one of the nation’s largest and most influential community foundations.

For more than 30 years, Jim has advised business owners, investors, and financial institutions on corporate transactions, litigation strategy, income tax planning, estate and succession planning, and long‑term business growth. His work is grounded in a simple principle: business should be a catalyst for positive impact. That philosophy has shaped the firm’s culture and earned Shields Legal Group recognition in the Communities Foundation of Texas Annual Report as a long‑standing Center for Business Impact partner.

Jim’s election to the CFT Board of Trustees reflects both his professional expertise and his personal commitment to strengthening the communities where his clients and colleagues live and work. In this role, he will help guide CFT’s strategic direction, stewardship of charitable assets, and expansion of philanthropic initiatives across North Texas.

“Serving on the CFT Board is an opportunity to help advance the kind of community‑focused work that inspires our firm every day,” Jim said. “I believe deeply in the power of business and philanthropy working together, and I’m grateful for the chance to contribute to CFT’s mission in a meaningful way.”

This milestone marks an important chapter for Shields Legal Group as we continue to champion responsible business practices and community‑driven impact.
