Biography
Licensed in 1988, Daena Ramsey has spent more than three decades in small and mid-sized firms, including as a named Partner for 20 of those years. Her experience ranges across many different industries and institutions.
As a board-certified specialist in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Daena has tried a significant number of cases in state and federal courts before juries and judges and appeared in multiple appellate courts, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Daena has built a reputation for her expertise and litigation skills in handling a wide range of cases, and she has experience in handling business cases of all sizes. She has achieved successful outcomes for clients at the state and federal court levels, through negotiations and positive verdicts, and she has represented clients on both sides of the courtroom. She has been recognized by her peers as a Super Lawyer.
Daena has extensive mass tort and nationwide litigation experience, including having served as national litigation counsel.

National counsel for medical device manufacturer, handling lawsuits throughout the United States
Handled briefing and argument in multiple appellate courts in Texas and in multiple appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit
Litigated hundreds of cases involving medical devices and prescription drugs, trade secret violations, violations of non-compete agreements, fraud, personal injury, mass torts, class actions, contract disputes, banking, construction, shipping/logistics, insurance coverage, franchise disputes, claims of tortious interference, employment disputes including harassment and discrimination, prosecution and defense of requests for injunctive relief, and local and international maritime disputes. Representation included:
- Representing parties involved in contract, trade secret, non-compete disputes encompassing a multitude of industries (banks, brokers, telecommunication, logistics, trucking, medical, entertainment/media, medical, real estate)
- Representing medical device manufacturers of heart devices and implants
- Representing prescription drug manufacturers in matters involving adverse events
- Representing the FDIC and RTC during the savings and loan failures
- Representing various financial institutions regarding foreclosures and loan disputes
- Representing freight forwarders/OTIs, handling national and international cargo/shipping disputes
- Defense counsel in wrongful death and serious injury cases
- Defense counsel in breast implant and mold litigation which included multiple trials throughout the state of Texas (each involved over a decade of depositions, motion practice, and trials, and included handling and disposing of tens of thousands of plaintiffs’ claims)
- Representing insurance companies and insureds in policy coverage disputes
- Representing stevedores and logistics companies in matters involving property damage/personal injuries at various ports and during transportation of goods (including catastrophes at sea, loss of or damage to cargo, fatal injuries, contract disputes, large scale fires, damages to offshore drilling rigs)
- Negotiating personal injury settlements after Defendants filed Bankruptcy
- Handling creditors’ claims in Bankruptcy Courts, including lien priorities, personal and real property foreclosures, motions to lift stay, and collection of debts
