David A. Shields, Attorney
I am a graduate, cum laude, of the Saint Louis University School of Law. During law school, I worked closely with one of the state’s premier attorneys, Maurice B. Graham. While clerking for Gray, Ritter & Graham, I was mentored by a distinguished attorney with years of litigation experience. I learned from the best and I continue that tradition at Shields Legal Group.
Since joining SLG, I have handled numerous matters involving litigation, contract disputes and negotiation, and real estate transactions. My role model is my father, James D. Shields, founder of SLG.
I have learned that excellence is not a mistake.
It is earned by hard work, dedication and focus.
While I was attending SLU Law, I won Editor of the Year from the Saint Louis University Law Journal. My article on the appropriate standard of harmless error was published in May 2012. I was also active in many organizations, including acting as Vice President of the Student Legal Writer’s Association. My B.S. in Business Administration was awarded by the John Cook School of Business at Saint Louis University.
I am a member of the Dallas Bar Association and the Dervish Club, one of the oldest men’s social clubs in Dallas. I also serve as the Underwriting Chair of the Lee Park Conservancy, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of Arlington Hall, a historic landmark building in the Turtle Creek area of Dallas, and am an active member of Texas Young Professionals in Dallas.
I am licensed to practice law in the State of Texas. If I may help you in any way, please contact me.
